PRODUCT DESCRIPTION
Diatomite, also known as Diatomaceous Earth is naturally formed soft, siliceous sedimentary rock, composed from the fossilized remains of microscopic aquatic organisms, diatoms. The skeletons of diatoms are made of a silica. Over thousands of years, diatoms accumulated in the sediment of rivers, streams, lakes, and diatomite deposits of both marine and lacustrine origin are mined throughout the world.
PRODUCT GRADES AND APPLICATIONS:
Diatomaceous Earth (DE) has many uses including in agriculture and horticulture, animal farming, chemical-free pest control, pet products industry, as absorbent of oil stains, chemicals, unpleasant odors.
DE is used to be mixed with either organic or chemical fertilizers as a filler. DE will be absorbing minerals first and then gradually release them to the plants.
DE is used to be mixed with animal feed, to help to reduce occurrence of abdominal gas, eliminate parasites. Can as well help to strengthen egg shells in poultry farming and increase milk supply in dairy farming.
Used as a farm floor conditioning material, absorbing moisture, eliminating flies and unpleasant odor in the farm facilities.
Calcined Diatomaceous Earth is heat-treated and activated for filters.
Freshwater DE is used as a growing medium in hydroponic gardens. It also makes a good growing medium for potted plants, particularly as bonsai soil.
